General:
A major step towards a new era of hygiene has been done: The use of ozone in ozonated water for general disinfection in every household is possible and available now, with just one simple installation of the ozone generator of our cooperation partner Jianlile Technologies Shenzhen Co. Ltd. (JTS)
Pandemics like Covid-19 which we’ve to face now is not the first and it will not be the last one, but it should be a reason to think about a new approach to hygiene.
Beside the current pandemic there are also threats by multi-resistant germs that occur precisely there, where a large number of immunocompromised people are in a confined space, namely in hospitals and retirement and nursing homes.
Jianlile Technologies Shenzhen Co. Ltd. took the step forward and started now the manufacturing of its patented devices for the production of ozonated water, to be used in the common household.
For professional applications e.g. in public toilets, -swimming pools, hospitals, laundries, restaurants etc. as well as in agriculture and stock breeding, Jianlile Technologies Shenzhen Co. Ltd. has solutions in its product pipeline or does R & D on it already.
Physical-chemical and technical background:
In chemistry and physics the gas ozone is known as one of the strongest, natural oxidizing agents as well as our protective shield as a layer in the lower stratosphere at an altitude of 15-20 km. There the sun’s strong emitted UV-A and UV-B rays, which can cause heavy damage in living things, are reduced by the ozone-oxygen-cycle in which ozone absorbs UV photons. This complex cycle protects plants, organism, animals and human beings on earth.
But the gas ozone is also created in our area of life by environmental pollution in combination with strong sun exposure. For example strong traffic on a summer’s day can rise the ozone level to a health hazardous height. Because inhaling of ozone above a certain level can harm the respiration track, due to its strong oxidizing effect. The positive aspect about ozone is: The molecule which consists of three oxygen atoms is not stable, it disintegrates after a short time, if the conditions which let it create are changing. In our example the sunset, without sunlight the ozone production stops and the existing ozone disintegrates.
Ozone gas dissolved in water (ozonated water) however is safe.
Ozone dissolves in water better than oxygen, because it is more polar.
But also here the ozone is not stable and will disintegrate in water and oxygen with no residue. The half-life of ozone in water under normal conditions is 20 minutes, higher temperatures like cooking the water will reduce the ozone concentration below the detectability limit.
The mixing of the water with the produced ozone without losses of the gas into the environment is essential in two ways: First, losses into the environment are reducing the ozone content for the required and calculated effectiveness of the ozonated water for using it as a strong disinfection agent. Second, losses into the environment are neither desired not allowed due to environmental laws. JTS’s devices has been also tested in respect of polluting the environment with ozone gas and the devices has passed the tests impressively.

These technical challenges had been solved with the patented technologies of JTS in their products by design and application perfectly.
One of their products for the consumer range is the AW1002.
The AW1002:
The AW1002 was designed for the general use in the existing household. For new buildings of apartments/houses and professional applications JTS provides further solutions.
As mentioned before ozone in water is not stable, once the ozonized water is produced it can’t be transported long ways through a pipe system without losses through disintegration. That’s why it was decided to put the fabrication of the ozonized water at the point of need: Right on the tap.
The second problem is, that energy is needed to operate the ozone generator, but cables to lead energy to it or the use of batteries/accumulators complicates the use or makes the device too bulky.
The patented solution of JTS is to use the water pressure to drive a small generator, which produces enough energy (3 W) to operate the ozone generator, if the water pressure is sufficient. (Usual water pressure supplied by the municipal drinking water supply is perfect for use 0.15-0.40Mpa = 1.5-4 bar)
The produced ozone (70 mg/hr which effects an ozone concentration of about 0.5 ppm) is mixed with the through flowing water immediately and perfectly and flows out of the device ready to use.


The advantages of the application of ozonated water. In the kitchen and household:
As mentioned before the ozonated water is a strong but safe and environment friendly disinfection agent, already a tiny concentration of 0.5ppm ozone only, has a strong disinfection effect. The immediate use of the fresh- produced ozonated water to wash fruits, vegetables after shopping will extend the keeping time in the fridge to minimum the double time, washing all kinds of meat, fish, seafood will kill all problematic bacteria, virus and other germs with a 99.8% probability.
Disinfection of the chopping boards after use, same effect like above.
Use to wash the dishes with added usual detergents, same effect like above (for dish washers Jianlile offers a different solution).
General use for disinfecting surfaces, cooking ranges, refrigerators, sinks, bath tubs shower cabins, toilet bowls same effect like above.
Mould in above mentioned places will not arise at all and existing mould will be removed immediately, if the ozonated water is able to contact it.
Watering your plants with ozonated water will prevent or remove the mould. For the use in household washing machines and dish washers JTS offers special applications as well as for WC and urinals.

Potable Water:
The water provided from the municipal water supply can be used but it may be not free from chemicals and odor or even dangerous germs e.g. Legionella pneumophila, which may occur in hot/warm water pipe systems after long term unused. Many households use additional cleaning/filtering systems to improve the drinking water quality. The ozone mixed with the usual water from the tap however improves the quality of the water immediately: Possible germs will be killed
immediately, chemical residues like pesticides, heavy metals, chlorine etc. will be neutralized (oxidized).
The water is ready to drink after 20 minutes, if you need it for cooking or prepare coffee/tea it can be used immediately, because during the cooking process the ozone will disappear completely.
Further application is strongly recommended in regions where lack of germ-free water occurs, when the water pressure in the pipe grid is sufficient, the AW1002 is producing germ-free water immediately, without additional power supply.
Personal Hygiene:
The oral and dental hygiene will be improved by orders of the magnitude when ozonated water is used for teeth brushing and gargling.
Tooth discolorations and stains due to smoking, drinking of red wine etc. can be removed due to the bleaching ability of the ozonated water.
Bad taste in the mouth, bad breath disappear immediately after gargling with the ozonated water.
The use of ozonated water in combination with a usual shampoo for hair washing is unproblematic, even better, it removes dandruff reliably.
Bad body odor is not caused by the sweat itself, which is odorless. The sweat which contains not only 99% water and 0.5% salts but also urea, protein, lactic acid and fats, the latter attracts bacteria. The decomposition products of the bacteria which are using the sweat ingredients as nutriment are the reason for bad body odor.
As ozonated water is killing germs, the problem of bad body odor is vanishing sustainably. Just use it with soap or another detergent in the usual way.
The same thing applies to nail fungus, if the ozonated water is able to reach it, it will be killed.
For the washing of the genital area the same like above applies. Bad odors are a problem of the past and that along with non-skin irritating use.
For immediate disinfection of insect bites, scratches on the skin, ozonated water can be used.
Used after shaving, your skin will be disinfected without skin irritations.
…and much more possibilities of applications.
All this along with one of the greatest advantages of the ozonated water: The ozone in it disappears without leaving any residues. Millions of tons of disinfection agents used worldwide don’t need to be produced and won’t pollute our environment while produced and after using.
